5 FAQs

  • My recently added listing does not display. What's wrong?

There are 2 common reasons for this.

    1. After completing your listing information you forgot to click on the "Finalize" button.
    2. Go to your "Property Listings Manager and make sure your listing does not indicate "Unpublished". If it does click on the "Unpublished" button to change it to "Published".
  • Why is using all capital letters in my listings bad?

While the use of capital letters in a word or phrase here and there is OK and completely acceptable, using caps for your entire listing is considered bad taste. When users see all caps in one of your posts many of them feel you are shouting at them and tend to ignore what you write. Also, it’s harder for most people to read because that’s not what they’re used to seeing in books and magazines. Additionally, most web professionals agree that Google penalizes the SEO ranking for text written with all capital letters.

  • I wasn’t the best scholar in my English classes. How can I be sure the wording in my listings is up to par?

Good business writing is no easy task and takes a good bit of practice to be really good at it. We here at Texas Land Hunt rely on a free app called Grammarly to double check our spelling and grammar. Although it’s not perfect, it does catch a lot of common grammar and spelling errors. If you use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Safari browsers just visit www.grammarly.com and download the app for free. A premium version is available if you find you need even more grammar checking features.

  • I just edited my listing but the changes don't show on the Texas Land Hunt website.

There are several issues that might prevent changes from being immediately visible.

    1. Often the reason is your screen just needs to be refreshed. Tapping the F5 key or clicking on the refresh icon in your web browser will often make it visible.
    2. It's a little less common but there's also a chance the old information could be stuck in the cache within your browser. If so the revised information will not display until the cache expires or you clear the cache manually. for a detailed explanation of how to clear your cache visit this link. Also, visiting your listing from another browser or from an "incognito" window in the same browser will often show the new information if caching is a factor.
    3. Lastly, if steps 1 and 2 fail to display the new information, please submit a support ticket to Texas Land Hunt giving details about which listing your having issues with. Someone will get back to you ASAP.
  • I see the message "You don't have access to this menu. Please contact your website administrator if you feel you should." What's wrong?

This can occur for a couple of reasons.

(A.) It's possible when submitting your registration you did not complete the transaction and pay for your membership in Texas Land Hunt.

(B.) It's possible you're credit card information needs updating.

    Solution:
